In the 2004-2005 School Year, Great Lakes Circles Resource Team
sourced over 100 Challenge Days in the Great Lakes Region.
That means over 12,000 teens in the Great Lakes Region have experienced Challenge Day.
Many adult volunteers were fortunate to be present and witness the positive change in those students.
Teachers and administrators throughout the area saw the lasting and tangible effects of Challenge Day in
their schools as student attitudes and behaviors improved.
Word of the program’s success is spreading: Now every public high school and middle school in Great Lakes Region
that has heard of Challenge Day have requested one or more Challenge Days for their students. And the
number of Challenge Days per school is expected to grow as the new school year approaches.
We don’t want to disappoint any student or school wanting to experience Challenge Day! This is where you
come in…
Each Challenge Day costs $2,700 for 100 students (plus travel expenses).
The 28 Challenge Days we already have scheduled for next year will cost $70,000, and already,
$50,000 of that total has been raised through sponsorships and gifts.
Your gift of $25 can send one student to a Challenge Day that could change the course of that student’s
life. Create positive change in four students for $100, in ten students for $250… you get the picture.
Think what would be possible if all 450 people receiving this email wrote checks for $25, $100, $250 or
more. No school, no student would be turned away from Challenge Day for lack of funding.
We need your support now! The amount you contribute will be fully tax deductible. And every cent of the
contribution will go to Challenge Day in our schools – we are all volunteer, with no paid staff.
The national organization requires payment in full before a Challenge Day is held. Let’s be ready to
respond to every school’s request this year. Just imagine how our students and our schools can be changed
by this time next year!
If you can help – even with sponsoring one student – PLEASE PRINT THIS PAGE so you won’t forget to follow up…
